FIRST PERIOD - Cast this: Macbeth & Lady Macbeth

In the last seventy years, Macbeth has been turned into a movie dozens (literally dozens) of times.  In fact, right now they’re working on a new Macbeth, slated to come out in 2015.  In the film Macbeth and Lady Macbeth will be played by two of the most sought-after actors currently working today: Michael Fassbender (X-men: First Class, Twelve Years a Slave, Prometheus, Inglorious Basterds) and Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Midnight in Paris, La Vie en Rose).

In the comments section of this blog post, here is what you are to do:

Image you've been charged with casting Macbeth and Lady Macbeth - who would you pick?  Choose two current actors and explain why you think they would make sense - talk about their past work, what they look like, their acting range, the necessary qualities to convincingly portray the Macbeths.  And don't feel restricted to choosing two white Europeans in their 30s - for this assignment, there is no wrong answer, there's just how you defend your ideas (and I shouldn't have to say this at this point, but be specific!).

Also, as we are entering into the 'blog response' phase of this class, you are encouraged, especially if you're among the last people to include a post, to respond to something some one's already said - so long as you're contributing something original and of substance to the conversation.

In addition to responding to one another, in your posts you are also encouraged to include links to images and videos to defend why your casting opinions make sense.

Finally, while this piece of writing isn't going to be held to the standard of, say, a major paper, you are expected to actually write a coherent, logically flowing comment, one whose point isn't blunted by poor grammar, spelling, etc.

Just be brilliant, yeah?
